Lifelight Health develops revolutionary implantable drug depots for controlled local therapy of chronic and difficult-to-treat diseases. As a lead indication we aim to achieve significant progress in the treatment of brain tumors such as glioblastoma. Our approach offers patients an improved quality of life, prolonged survival and ultimately a realistic chance of cure.
Lifelight Health is currently being funded by the HTI BioIntelligence Incubator.
We are identifying further promising application areas and work on establishing an advanced prototype for preclinical testing. Our implants are still in development. We do not sell any medical products yet.
In Prof. Plettenburg's university lab, researchers developed a novel linker technology that led to the creation of Lifelight Health. This technology allows approved drugs to be securely bound to implants, enabling efficient and controlled release. Inspired by this innovation, we envisioned a way to provide local therapy through an implantable drug depot - allowing drug release at the touch of a button.
